Babe Ruth
Babe Ruth is perhaps the most famous player in baseball history. He started his career with the Boston Red Sox, but was sold to the New York Yankees in 1920. He helped lead the Yankees to their first World Series title in 1923, and went on to win three more World Series with the team. In 1935, he was traded back to the Red Sox, but only played 28 games for the team before retiring. Ruth is one of only five players to have won a World Series with both the Yankees and the Red Sox.
Reggie Jackson
Reggie Jackson is one of the most accomplished players in baseball history. He was a 14-time All-Star, a five-time World Series champion, and he was named the Most Valuable Player in both the American League and the World Series on three occasions.
But what many people don’t realize is that Jackson actually won two of his five World Series titles with each of New York’s Major League Baseball teams – the Yankees and the Mets. In 1977, Jackson was a member of the Yankees team that defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. Then, just six years later, he helped the Mets win their second ever World Series title by hitting a home run off of Dennis Eckersley in Game 6 against the Boston Red Sox.
Darryl Strawberry
Darryl Strawberry was born in 1962 in Los Angeles, and he was drafted first overall by the Mets in 1980. He quickly made his way through the Mets’ farm system, and he made his Major League debut in 1983. He played with the Mets until 1990, when he was traded to the Dodgers. He helped the Dodgers win the World Series in 1981, and he also won a World Series with the Yankees in 1996.
Mike Piazza
Mike Piazza was traded to the Mets in 1998 and played with the team until 2005. He was a part of the 2000 team that went to the World Series, but they lost to the Yankees. Piazza was then traded to the Padres in 2006.
Curtis Granderson
Curtis Granderson is one of the five players in MLB history to have won the World Series with both the Yankees and the Mets. He won with the Yankees in 2009 and with the Mets in 2015.
