The New York Yankees have had a great season, but if they want to make the playoffs, they need to make some changes.

The Bronx Bombers
The New York Yankees have not been to the playoffs since 2012. That was the year they won the World Series. They have had some good teams since then, but they have not been able to make it back to the promised land. The Yankees have a lot of work to do if they want to make the playoffs this year.
The New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are widely considered one of the most successful baseball teams in history. They have won 27 World Series championships, 40 American League pennants, and have made it to the playoffs an astonishing 58 times.
Despite their successes, the Yankees have not won a World Series since 2009, and have only made it to the playoffs once in the last seven years. In order to return to their former glory, the Yankees need to make some changes.
First and foremost, they need to improve their starting pitching. In recent years, the Yankees’ starting pitchers have been among the worst in baseball. They need to add at least one top-tier starter, and preferably two.
Secondly, they need to get younger and more athletic. The Yankees’ core players are all over 30, and many of them are approaching or already in their decline phases. They need to add some young talent that can not only contribute immediately but also be part of the team’s long-term future.
Lastly, they need to address their bullpen issues. The Yankees’ bullpen has been a mess in recent years, blown leads and losing games that they should have won. They need to overhaul their bullpen, bringing in some new faces with fresh arms.
Making these changes will not be easy, but if the Yankees are serious about contend for a World Series title again, they have no choice but to make them.
The Boston Red Sox
The Bronx Bombers are in a tough spot. They are currently behind the Boston Red Sox by four games in the AL East standings and are also behind the Oakland Athletics for the top Wild Card spot. They need to make a move and they need to make it soon if they want to have any chance of making the playoffs.
There are several things that the Yankees need to do if they want to make a push for the playoffs. First, they need to shore up their starting pitching.Their starting pitchers have been inconsistent at best and downright bad at times. If they can get their starting pitching back on track, it will go a long way towards helping them win games.
Second, the Yankees need to start hitting the ball better with runners in scoring position. They have been leaving too many runners on base and not coming through in key situations. If they can start getting some hits with runners in scoring position, it will help them score more runs and ultimately win more games.
Finally, the Yankees need to play better defense. They have been making too many errors and not making enough plays on defense. If they can clean up their play on defense, it will help them win more games.
The Yankees have their work cut out for them if they want to make the playoffs this year, but if they can turn things around in these areas, they will give themselves a much better chance of success.
The Pitching Rotation
The New York Yankees have been one of the best teams in baseball over the past few years. They have great hitting and power, but their pitching has been their Achilles heel. The Yankees need to improve their pitching if they want to make the playoffs.
The New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are a professional baseball team based in the Bronx, New York City, New York. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East division. They are one of two major league clubs based in New York City; the other is the National League’s (NL) New York Mets. The Yankees began play in the 1901 season as the Baltimore Orioles (no relation to the modern Baltimore Orioles). In 1903, Frank Farrell and Bill Devery purchased the franchise after it ceased operations and moved it to New York City, renaming the club the New York Highlanders. The Highlanders were officially renamed as the “Yankees” in 1913.
The team is owned by Yankee Global Enterprises, an LLC controlled by Boxing manager and businessman Casey Wasserman through a partnership with 4 other investors including Canadian businessman Lawrence Tanenbaum, who owns 16% of the team. The principal owner of Yankee Global Enterprises is Hal Steinbrenner, son of long-time owner George Steinbrenner who owned from 1973 until his death in July 2010.
The Yankees have won 27 World Series championships, 40 American League (AL) pennants, and 23 Wild Card berths. Forty-four Yankees players and eleven Yankees managers have been inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame—more than any other franchise in MLB history. In pursuit of winning championships, since 1996, the Yankees have posted an MLB-best .690 winning percentage during regular season play;[10] making nine trips to the World Series and winning five times—1996, 1998–2000, 2009,[11] and 2019.[12][13]
The Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox have been on a bit of a skid as of late, losing 4 of their last 7 games. However, they are still in first place in the AL East with a 6.5 game lead over the Yankees. The Red Sox are going to be a tough team to beat come playoff time.
The Red Sox pitching rotation is anchored by Chris Sale, who has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season. Sale has an ERA of 2.11 and has struck out 217 batters in just 146 innings pitched. He will be the ace of the Red Sox pitching staff come playoff time.
Other members of the Red Sox pitching rotation include David Price, Rick Porcello, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Drew Pomeranz. All of these pitchers have had solid seasons and will give the Red Sox a strong chance to win every game they pitch in come playoff time.
The Yankees are going to need to be on their game if they want to beat the Red Sox in a playoff series.
The Lineup
The New York Yankees are in a good position to make the playoffs. They have a great lineup with a lot of power. However, they need to make some changes to their lineup if they want to have a chance to win the World Series.

They are one of two major league clubs based in New York City; the other club is the National League’s (NL) New York Mets. In baseball, the Yankees’ chief rivals are the Boston Red Sox, against whom they compete for the AL East title; and the Houston Astros, against whom they play for AL supremacy overall.
The Yankees have been in existence since 1901, and are one of baseball’s most successful franchises. They have won 27 World Series championships, more than any other MLB team. They have also won 40 American League (AL) pennants, which is also more than any other MLB team. The Yankees have had some of baseball’s best players throughout their history, including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle, and Derek Jeter.
The Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox have been one of the most dominant teams in baseball over the last decade. They have won three World Series titles and have made the playoffs in seven of the last ten seasons. The Sox are led by a core of young, talented players such as Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, and Jackie Bradley Jr., who have helped the team become one of the most exciting and successful franchises in baseball.
The Sox have made some splashy offseason acquisitions this year, including signing star pitcher David Price to a record-setting contract. With a strong nucleus of young players and some key additions to the roster, the Sox are poised to make another deep postseason run in 2016.
The Bench
The Yankees have been relying too heavily on their starters this season and it has finally caught up to them. In order to make the playoffs, they need to have a strong bench that can come in and provide some relief. With a strong bench, the Yankees will be able to stay in games and give their starters a rest.

The team is owned by Yankee Global Enterprises, an LLC controlled by the family of the late George Steinbrenner, who purchased the team in 1973. Brian Cashman is the team’s general manager, and Aaron Boone is the team’s field manager. The team’s home games were played at Yankee Stadium from 1923 until 1973 and from 1976 to 2008. In 1974 and 1975, the Yankees shared Shea Stadium with the Mets, as both teams had to find new homes following the collapse of Mickey Mantle’s home run into a movie theater beyond center field at Yankee Stadium in May 1968. In 2009, they moved into a new ballpark also called Yankee Stadium; it cost approximately $2 billion and its inaugural season was 2009. The 2009 season was highlighted by a 27th World Series championship—their first championship since 2000—and 11th victory over their cross-town rivals, the New York Mets.
The Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox are in first place in the American League East, and they are playing well. The Yankees are in second place and they are trying to catch the Red Sox. The Yankees need to improve their pitching, defense, and offense if they want to make the playoffs.
The Yankees’ starting pitchers have been doing well, but their relievers have been struggling. Aroldis Chapman has been injured and he has not been able to pitch well. Dellin Betances has also been struggling. The Yankees need to get better pitching from their bullpen if they want to make the playoffs.
The Yankees’ defense has also been an issue. They have made too many errors and they have not been able to stop opposing teams from scoring runs. The Yankees need to play better defense if they want to make the playoffs.
The Yankees’ offense has also been an issue. They have not been able to score enough runs to win games. The Yankees need to get more hits and score more runs if they want to make the playoffs.
The Manager
The Yankees are in a tight race for a wild card spot and they need to make some changes if they want to make the playoffs. One of those changes needs to be at the manager position. Joe Girardi has been at the helm for 10 years and has only won one World Series.
The New York Yankees
Yankees’ general manager Brian Cashman has a lot to prove this season. After the team’s disappointing loss to the Houston Astros in the 2017 American League Championship Series, fans and critics alike are watching to see if Cashman can put together a roster that can get the Yankees back to the World Series.
The Yankees have made some big changes this off-season, including acquiring Giancarlo Stanton, one of the best hitters in baseball, from the Miami Marlins. But will it be enough to make them contenders in a tough American League East?
Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: The pressure is on Cashman to deliver.
The Boston Red Sox
It’s no secret that the New York Yankees have struggled as of late. With a record of 71-91, they finished in last place in the AL East for the first time since 1992. The last time they made the playoffs was in 2012, and they haven’t won a World Series since 2009. In order to get back to their winning ways, the Yankees need a new manager.
The current front runner for the job is former Boston Red Sox manager, Bobby Valentine. Valentine has a lot of experience, and he knows how to win. He led the Red Sox to a World Series title in 2004, and he also has experience managing in Japan.
The Yankees are also considering other candidates, but Valentine is the clear favorite. If they want to get back to winning championships, they need to hire him.
