The Yankees Radio Network

The Yankees Radio Network is the radio network of the New York Yankees. The network is composed of 28 radio stations in the Northeast United States, plus two ESPN Radio affiliates that carry New York Yankees baseball games in Spanish. The network is currently anchored by WFAN, the flagship station of the network.

WFAN

WFAN (660 AM), also known as “Sports Radio 66 and 101 FM” or “The FAN”, is a radio station licensed to New York City. The station broadcasts an all-sports format and is owned by Entercom. WFAN’s studios are in the combined Entercom facility in the Hudson Square neighborhood of Manhattan and its transmitter site is on High Island in the Bronx.

WFAN began broadcasting on July 1, 1987, taking over the sports radio duties from sister station WCBS. Prior to that date, both stations aired a middle-of-the road music format. The move allowed WCBS to air more local news and talk programming, while WFAN ran a mix of live sporting events, call-in talk shows and personality-driven programs around the clock.

WCBS

WCBS (880 kHz) is a radio station licensed to New York City and owned by Entercom. The station airs an all-news format and is the flagship station of the CBS Radio Network.

WADO

WADO (1280 AM) is a radio station licensed to New York, NY. The station is owned by Univision Radio and airs a Spanish-language sports format. The station’s studios are in Manhattan, while its transmitter is atop the Empire State Building.

The Yankees Television Network

The Yankees television network is the radio station that carries the Yankees in New York. The network is made up of eight stations in the New York area, one in Connecticut and one in New Jersey. The flagship station of the network is WFAN, which is also the world’s first all-sports radio station.

YES Network

The YES Network is a regional sports channel owned by the Yankees that airs games in New York. The network also has carriage outside of the NY market, on national satellite and cable providers.

Entercom’s WFAN 660 AM/101.9 FM is the flagship station for the Yankees Radio Network. The network has affiliates throughout New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
