In 1974 and 1975, their home games were played at Shea Stadium, home of their NL rivals, the Mets. From 2009 to 2012, their home games were played at newly built Yankee Stadium; opened for that season across East 161st Street from their former home ballpark—which became their minor league baseball headquarters complex known as Yankee Stadium Legacy Field until its demolition in early 2020—and one block north of where Shea Stadium had stood since 1964 [7]—was later replaced with Citi Field which opened for them during their 2009 road trip when finished on April 13th with a pre-opening exhibition game against Chicago Cubs while they waited until mid-week for heir regular season home opener against Baltimore on April 16th].
