They are one of two major league clubs based in New York City; the other is the New York Mets. One of baseball’s American League East Division clubs, the Yankees have won 27 World Series championships,[3][4] more than any other MLB team.
The managers
The managers of the Dodgers and Yankees are both former players. Joe Girardi was a catcher for the Yankees from 1996 to 1999, and he managed the team from 2008 to present. Don Mattingly was a first baseman for the Yankees from 1982 to 1995, and he started coaching for them in 2004. He became the manager of the Dodgers in 2011.
The stadiums
The Yankees play their home games at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York City, while the Dodgers play theirs at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
The games
The Dodgers and Yankees will play each other in interleague play during the 2013 regular season. The specific dates and times of the games have not been released yet, but we do know that they will play each other in Los Angeles from June 18-20 and in New York from September 17-19.
