New York Yankees Transactions

The New York Yankees have made a number of roster moves today, most notably activating third baseman Miguel Andujar from the injured list and optioning infielder Thairo Estrada to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Andujar had been sidelined since mid-April with a small tear in his right shoulder, but he played five games on a rehab assignment with Class A Tampa and Double-A Trenton over the past week and is now ready to return to the big league club. In four games with the Yankees this season, Andujar is hitting .267/.292/.400 with one home run and four RBI.

Estrada was recalled from Triple-A on May 4 when Andujar went on the IL, but he appeared in just two games for New York, going 0-for-5 at the plate. He’ll head back to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he’s hitting .333/.424/.444 in 14 games this season.
