The New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are a baseball team located in the Bronx, New York City. They are members of the American League East Division in Major League Baseball. The Yankees have been in existence since 1903. The team has won 27 World Series championships, which is more than any other team in baseball history. The team has also won 40 American League Pennants.
The History of the New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are a professional baseball team based in the Bronx, New York City. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East division. They are one of two major league clubs based in New York City, the other being the New York Mets of the National League.
The Yankees began play in the 1901 season as the Baltimore Orioles. In 1903, Frank Farrell and Bill Devery purchased the franchise after it ceased operations and moved it to New York City, renaming the club the New York Highlanders. The Highlanders were officially renamed the Yankees in 1913.
The team is owned by Yankee Global Enterprises, an LLC controlled by the family of George Steinbrenner, who purchased the team in 1973. Brian Cashman is the team’s general manager, and Aaron Boone is the team’s field manager. The team’s home games were played at Yankee Stadium from 1923 until 1973 and from 1976 to 2008. In 1974 and 1975, replacement players staged home games at Shea Stadium while Yankee Stadium was renovated for baseball’s centennial and then again between 2008 and 2012 while its replacement was built adjacent to the previous facility. From 2013 to 2017, home games were played at Citi Field while Yankee Stadium underwent renovations again; during that time Gene Monahan served as head athletic trainer for all three sites. Since 2018, home games have been played at Yankee Stadium.

Gary Sanchez
Gary Sanchez (born December 2, 1992), nicknamed “El Gary”, is a Dominican professional baseball catcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2016.
Sanchez was signed by the Yankees as an international free agent in 2009. He made his professional debut that year with the DSL Yankees, and also played for them in 2010 and 2011. He spent 2012 with the GCL Yankees, 2013 with the Charleston RiverDogs, 2014 with both the Tampa Yankees and Trenton Thunder, and 2015 with Trenton and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Austin Romine
Austin Jack Romine (born December 17, 1988) is an American professional baseball catcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played in MLB for the Detroit Tigers.
Romine was born in Lake Forest, California, and grew up in Cypress, California. His father, Kevin Romine, also played in MLB. Austin Romine attended Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, where he played baseball and football. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim selected Romine in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft, but he did not sign with the team and instead attended Arizona State University. After one season at Arizona State, he was drafted by the Yankees in the second round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft and signed with the team.
Romine made his MLB debut with the Yankees on September 2, 2011. He has also played for them during parts of 2012 and 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017. He became their primary catcher in 2018 when they traded Gary Sánchez to the Chicago White Sox.
Kyle Higashioka
Kyle Higashioka is a professional baseball catcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. He made his MLB debut on September 1, 2016, and has also played in the minor leagues for the Yankees.
