Who Did the Yankees Get in the Trade?

Frazier, 22, was the fifth overall pick in the 2013 draft and was ranked as high as No. 16 on Baseball America’s Top 100 prospects list heading into the 2015 season. He spent most of 2016 with Double-A Akron, hitting .276/.345/.469 with 16 home runs and 73 RBIs in 134 games.

Sheffield, 20, was a first-round pick (31st overall) in the 2014 draft out of Tullahoma High School in Tennessee. He went 6-5 with a 2.48 ERA in 22 starts for Low-A Lake County last season, striking out 119 batters and walking 36 in 103 innings.

Heller, 25, split time between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus last season, going 1-5 with a 4.34 ERA and six saves in 44 relief appearances. In 40 innings, he struck out 54 batters and walked 18.

Feyereisen, 23, was acquired by the Indians from the Brewers last July as part of the trade that sent catcher Jonathan Lucroy to Texas. He went 2-1 with two saves and a 2.23 ERA in 34 relief appearances between High-A Lynchburg and Akron last season, striking out 60 batters and walking 15 in 74 innings.

The Indians got lefthander Andrew Miller from the Yankees.

The Yankees have traded All-Star reliever Andrew Miller to the Indians as part of a package deal that includes several other players.

In addition to Miller, the Yankees will send outfielder Clint Frazier, lefthander Justus Sheffield and right-hander Ben Heller to the Indians. The Yankees will also receive righthander Shane Bieber, infielder Yangervis Solarte and minor league second baseman Willi Castro from the Indians.

The Marlins got right-hander David Phelps from the Yankees.

The New York Yankees have traded right-handed pitcher David Phelps to the Miami Marlins in exchange for right-handed pitcher Nathan Eovaldi and minor league first baseman Garrett Jones, according to an ESPN report.

Phelps, 27, has been a valuable member of the Yankees’ pitching staff over the past two seasons, appearing in 65 games and making 22 starts. He’s compiled a 14-13 record with a 4.34 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 233 innings pitched.

Eovaldi, also 27, has spent the past two seasons with the Marlins, going 15-27 with a 4.45 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 58 starts. He was impressive in his most recent outing against the Yankees on July 2nd, allowing just one run on four hits in 7 innings pitched.

Jones, 33, is a veteran first baseman/outfielder who has spent the past two seasons with the Marlins. In 2014, he batted .246/.286/.397 with 11 home runs and 42 RBI in 106 games played.
