The team is owned by Yankee Global Enterprises, an LLC controlled by Hal and Hank Steinbrenner, who inherited control of the team from their father George Steinbrenner III following his death in 2010. Brian Cashman is the team’s general manager, and Aaron Boone is the team’s field manager. The team’s home games were played at Yankee Stadium from 1923 to 1973 and from 1976 to 2008. In 1974 and 1975, home games were played at Shea Stadium in Flushing, Queens while Yankee Stadium was renovated. From 2009 to 2018, the Yankees played at new Yankee Stadium next door to the site of their former home ballpark. In 2019, they moved less than half a mile northeast to state-of-the-art Yankee Stadium in Concourse Village of The Bronx.
