The New York Yankees Lineup
The New York Yankees are an American professional baseball team based in the New York City borough of the Bronx. The Yankees compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East division. They are one of two MLB teams based in New York City, the other being the NL’s New York Mets. The Yankees began play in the 1901 season as the Baltimore Orioles (no relation to the present-day Baltimore Orioles). In 1903, Frank Farrell and Bill Devery purchased the franchise after it ceased operations and moved it to New York City, renaming the club the New York Highlanders. The Highlanders were officially renamed the Yankees in 1913.
The team is owned by Yankee Global Enterprises, an LLC controlled by the family of the late George Steinbrenner, who purchased the team in 1973. Brian Cashman is the team’s general manager, and Aaron Boone is Steinbrenner’s great-nephew and current manager of baseball operations. The team’s home games were played at Yankee Stadium from 1923 to 1973 and from 1976 to 2008. In 1974 and 1975, they shared Shea Stadium with Major League Baseball’s New York Mets while their original stadium was undergoing massive reconstruction. In 2009, they moved into a new ballpark of the same name that was constructed adjacent to Citi Field, which opened a year earlier as home of their then-crosstown rivals; this arrangement caused some consternation amongst traditionalist fans who had seen Citi Field built on what had been Yankee Stadium’s parking lot—and who feared that “the new” Yankee Stadium might likewise someday be replaced by a similarly mega project elsewhere in Manhattan or even Brooklyn should attendance ever decline below a certain level or revenue other than ticket sales somehow flags for any reason—but which has nonetheless helped defray construction costs for both venues almost from day one via shared revenue from concessions stands and other events held at both ballparks over time as well as revenue from tourism related to both venues being so close together geography wise; this makes them (along with Wrigley Field and Fenway Park) one of only three current MLB stadiums that are not located within their city’s traditional downtown business/commercial district (with Tropicana Field located about 6 miles due south of Tampa’s business/commercial downtown area being located near Raymond James Stadium where NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers play instead while Oakland Coliseum where both MLB’s Oakland A’s and NFL’s Oakland Raiders play is located just east of I-880 not too far north of Oakland International Airport).
The Yankees have won 27 World Series championships—more than any other MLB team. They have won 40 American League pennants, more than any other AL team includes winning four consecutively between 1936–1939 and 1946–1949; they also won 19 AL East Division titles since its inception in 1969 including 11 consecutively between 1998–2008 only interrupted once during this string when they failed to make it back to playoffs following 1994 players’ strike; most recently they added 3 AL Pennants from 2009–2018 along with winning 6 East Division titles during this time period for 9 trips to playoffs out of 10 seasons since 2009 including 5 trips to ALCS (losing in 2010 & 2012) along with trips to World Series in 2009 & 2019 (losing both times); plus an additional trip back to World Series following 2017 regular season as AL Wild Card Team losing that year too so that makes 10 trips to playoffs out of 11 seasons since 2009 including trips to ALCS 7 times & World Series 4 times during this span plus they also won AL Wild Card Game following 2015 regular season then went on lose ALCS that year as well; all told they have been losing members of “Core Four” gradually since 2016 as first Andy Pettitte then CC Sabathia & finally Mark Teixeira all retired following 2016, 2017 & 2019 respectively while alum Mariano Rivera was elected into Hall Of Fame following his final 2019 season thus becoming first ever player unanimously electedinto Hall Of Fame; most recent managerial change occurred following 2017 regular season when Joe Girardi did not have his contract renewed then replaced by Aaron Boone who guided them backto playoffs& beyond following his first year as manager while capturing division title 4 times along with 2 more playoff appearances including trips backtotheALCSin 2019&2020(losingbothtimes)&backtotheWorldSeriesin2020(losingseriesin7games); presently lineup includes:

The New York Yankees Catcher
The New York Yankees catcher is a position that has been held by some great players over the years. The current catcher is Gary Sanchez. Sanchez is a young player with a lot of potential. He is a great hitter and has a strong arm.
The New York Yankees Catcher Position
The catcher for the New York Yankees is a position for a baseball player who receives pitches from the pitcher and tries to stop them from hitting the ground in front of home plate, or getting caught by the batter. The catcher is also responsible for calling plays and directing traffic on the field. The most recent catcher for the Yankees is Gary Sanchez.
The New York Yankees Catcher Candidates
With the retirement of long-time Yankee catcher Jorge Posada, the Yankees have a big hole to fill behind the plate. Who will be the new catcher for the New York Yankees?
There are three main candidates for the job: Francisco Cervelli, Jesus Montero, and Austin Romine.
Francisco Cervelli is a 28-year-old Italian catcher who has been with the Yankees since 2008. He has struggled with injuries in recent years, but when healthy, he is a very solid defender with a good arm. His bat is not particularly strong, but he does have some pop and is a good contact hitter.
Jesus Montero is a 22-year-old Venezuelan catcher who made his Major League debut with the Yankees in 2011. He is considered to be one of the best hitting prospects in baseball, and while he is not as strong defensively as Cervelli, he has made great strides in this area and has an above-average arm.
Austin Romine is a 23-year-old American catcher who has been in the Yankees’ farm system since 2007. He made his Major League debut in 2011 and played in 13 games for the Yankees. Romine is considered to be an excellent defender with a good arm, and while his bat is not as strong as Montero’s, he projects to be a solid hitter at the Major League level.
All three candidates have their strengths and weaknesses, but based on their abilities and potential, it appears that Jesus Montero is the leading candidate to be the new New York Yankees catcher.
Who is the New York Yankees Catcher?
The New York Yankees catcher is a person who catches the baseball during the game. The catcher is also responsible for calling pitches and ensuring that the pitchers are throwing the right type of pitches.
The New York Yankees Catcher Competition
The New York Yankees are currently in the midst of a catcher competition. The two main contenders for the starting catcher spot are Gary Sanchez and Austin Romine.
Sanchez is the more offensively gifted of the two, posting a career batting average of .278 and hitting 20 home runs in just 53 games last season. Romine, on the other hand, is considered the better defender of the two. He has a career batting average of just .242, but he has thrown out 27% of would-be base stealers over his career.
The Yankees will likely make their decision based on who they feel is the more well-rounded player. Both Sanchez and Romine bring some value to the team, but whoever can contribute more on both offense and defense will likely win the starting job.
The New York Yankees Catcher Decision
The New York Yankees have a bit of a conundrum on their hands. They have two very good catchers, Gary Sanchez and Austin Romine, and they can only keep one on the roster. So, who is the New York Yankees catcher?
This is actually a harder question to answer than it may seem. Both Sanchez and Romine are very good defensive catchers. They both have good arm strength and are accurate throwers. They are also both good blockers of the plate.
Offensively, Sanchez is the better hitter. He has more power and hits for a higher average. He also strikes out less than Romine. However, Romine is a better contact hitter and gets on base more often.
In the end, it may come down to who the Yankees feel is more important to their team. If they feel that Sanchez’s offense is more important, then he will be their catcher. However, if they feel that Romine’s defense is more important, then he will be their catcher.
